If you are planning to follow a fast weight loss plan, know that there are some risks. On one hand you can certainly drop pounds of excess fat, but on the other hand this sudden loss of weight can lead to certain health problems. As with anything (especially when things are fast), there are two sides of the story.

Here we’ll take a look at the pros and cons of fast weight loss:

Pros:

Rapid weight loss methods can help you get slimmer faster than following a gradual approach. On different programs and methods, it seems that a key component is your diet. Following them in theory is pretty easy, after all, they give you exactly what you need to eat, you just need to do as you are told, and in some cases perform just basic exercises at home.

Since this programs provide you with fast weight loss results, they help you gain a boost of self-confidence and can keep you motivated pretty easily. If the diet is good, it can also help you control your appetite and train your body to eat at regular intervals.

Cons:

Despite the fact that fast weight loss sounds real nice, most of the times it is not. As a matter of fact, many nutritionists advice that you lose weight in a slow, steady pace. A diet that promotes fast weight loss must be built with care by a nutritionist, or else you may end up with health issues. This occurs primarily because you can deprive your body from nutrients.

The hardest part of these programs comes in the first days, where you’ll need to be able to manage hunger pangs and anxiety.

In the long run, a quick weight loss program may not be your best bet. Even if you manage to lose your weight rapidly with a fad diet, more than 90% of people go back to their previous weight after finishing it.
